and if they DO listen, a lot of the time its bits and pieces of the whole story, and only the bits and pieces they WANT to hear. Even if it wasn't said, sometimes its still heard, if its what they want to hear.
This especially is the case when discussing nutrition.
Everybody wants the same general outcome - To be lean, to be tight, to be 10 lbs less, to build some lean mass ...the list goes on, but we ALL agree on it!
Here's my issue- Im here to help...its my job, its what I love to do, however......
I CANT DO IT IF YOU CHOSE TO NOT LISTEN!!!!!!!!
I tell you what to eat, and more importantly what NOT to eat, for a very specific reason-
IT WILL NOT GET YOU WHERE YOU WANT TO BE!!!!!
If I say lemon water first thing in the morning.... trust me, I DO NOT mean orange juice....I mean lemon squeezed into water. Plain and simple, and YES they are both citric, but it is not the same.
If I say oatmeal, not the flavoured packaged type, but regular quick oats.... I DO NOT MEAN apple cinnamon flavoured packaged oatmeal !!!
Yes I laughed at both of these situations, but it happens all the time, and these are situations where people are continually fighting the battle of physical change.
The simplest plan of attack from my point of view is to find your ideal physique, be that a friend, a fitness competitor, perhaps your trainer, whoever it is, ask them what THEY do. What do THEY eat, or NOT eat..... what is their training regime compared to yours?
Now........
DO WHAT THEY DO- obviously what you are doing isn't working right??
HARSH maybe, but if you are constantly seeing NO results, then CHANGE!
I have competed a few times in figure competitions and I can tell you first hand, ABS are built, literally in the kitchen.
You can crunch your ass off, but if you aren't specific on the nutrients and meals you ingest, you are wasting your time.
It doesn't have to be difficult either, and I think that's the big problem, is how difficult people seem to make it.
"Oh i cant eat that, or that, I can only have carbs at this time or that time, I cant eat out anymore....."
Some of this may be true, maybe you cant have carbs past 3 pm or maybe you can't eat that for the next few months, but there are so many ways to make great food taste awesome and give you the benefits you are looking for.
The majority of restaurants will cater very specifically to special requests, JUST ASK.
This is YOUR health, your body, your goals not theirs.... who cares if they think your being "picky".
Your results are going to come from choices, not MY choices but YOUR choices.
Think clearly, have some willpower and determination and be REALISTIC, make changes if its what needs to be done. If you aren't willing to make the changes, then you have NO right to complain.
