So it seems to be routine now that my blogging ideas come to me in my daily yoga classes.... and technically yoga is when you are taking time to reflect and look inward. So I guess it makes sense :)
Today was a good day, a successful day one would say. What makes it successful?
Well a lot of things really......
I was able to get into what felt like my deepest LOCUST pose to date. I had a great workout this morning and was able to push through a 'bugger' of a workout that at first glance felt impossible.
I met up with a new friend for a wonderful lunch and out of that came a new business client, I had a really good conversation with a client about his nutrition, helping him over some personal brainwashed hurdles. Each one of these moments on their own, would have been enough to consider today a success to me.
But what constitutes success to YOU?
To many, success means money. Earning a high paying job, working long hours and climbing your way up the corporate ladder to those 6 digits.
If this is the case, where is the enjoyment in life? How does one learn to appreciate the small yet amazing 'moments' life has?
The small success that in turn lead to a larger much more powerful success than money.
Money can buy things, sure but it can run out, and trust me when I say, IT WILL!!
What is left when the money runs out? The 'success' is gone. Are you now un successful? You've gone from feeling like the top dog to a nobody.?
It sounds awful.
If we learn to be grateful for the small accomplishments in life, we can learn to shift our idea of success to something that doesn't go away, that never runs out. There are ALWAYS daily occurrences that we can feel good about right? So consider it a success.
FEEL GOOD about it, as small as it may be. You did it, you can own it and you have succeeded.
That can never be taken away from you. True success can never be taken away from you. Its something that is felt inside.
Not everybody will live by this idea, and that's absolutely fine, but I know I do, and I live a very stress free life, knowing that I am in charge of my success and it comes directly from myself.
Now I'm not pretending that I wouldn't love to make a ridiculous salary and travel the world with my financial success..... and I believe that one day I will. However I am appreciating my smaller success today, I am building my own 'corporate ladder'...........
