Bikram says in his latest interview on CBC with Jann Arden,
Prior to the practice of yoga, we are sufferers of quote un quote, "Junk body, Screw loose brain and a lost soul".
My instructor this afternoon described it like a dysfunctional relationship, prior to counselling.
With the regular practice of yoga, you begin to put the body back together, your brain screws start to tighten and the spirit is awakened and excited.
Its the bringing together of the three, mind body spirit connection.
You may think that life is just peachy and there is no need for such help, I challenge you to a class. Take ONE class and tell me you don't immediately see the areas that need work.
This isn't to say that your life is in shambles..... the junk body, screw loose brain and lost soul comment is all in good fun. You should however take a step back and allow the possibility of change into your life. Admit it, there are areas that could be better..... perhaps a better mind body spirit connection is what you are in need of.
We live in such a busy scrambled life nowadays, its more important than ever to take a step back into the slow lane ( slow really is not how i would describe a Bikram class however)
I, personally started Bikram yoga about 9 months ago in hopes that my aches and pains due to a car accident would disperse, and I figured....personal trainer... I should be fine!!!
Day one, wowwww holy hannah.... hahahahah
Sweat!!! talk about sweat, and balance issues, and muscles burning in ways that I hadn't had them burn in ages....
90 minutes and I was a humbled calmer woman, and haven't looked back since.
Yes my aches and pains are going away, some days are better than others, but I now go for different reasons....
I am a calmer, happier woman, and i give full credit to the not so "junk body, screw loose brain and lost spirit" Bikram has given me a new outlook on life, and for that I am grateful
NAMASTE~
